Week Ending April 30, 2023
The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce that Latin Davis of the Windsor Express has been named Player of the Week for the week ending April 30, 2023.
Davis, a 6’0” point guard who played collegiately at Wayne State University, scored a game-high 30 points, 9 assists and 6 rebounds in Windsor’s only game of the week, leading the Express to a 111-110 win over Sudbury.
Week Ending April 23, 2023
The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce that Jeremiah Mordi of the London Lightning has been named Player of the Week for the week ending April 23, 2023.
Mordi, a 6’5” point guard from Lagos, Nigeria who played collegiately for Queens College (N.Y.), had a strong week for the Bolts, finishing with 18.5 ppg, 13.0 rpg and 6.0 assists per game, as well as two steals per game, helping London achieve two wins this week and keep the team in the hunt for the NBL regular season title.
Week Ending April 16, 2023
The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce that JD Miller of the Sudbury Five has been named Player of the Week for the week ending April 16, 2023. This is the second time Miller has earned this award in the 2022-23 season.
Miller, a 6’8” forward from Dallas who played collegiately at Texas Christian University, helped the Five remain unbeaten this week, averaging 25.5 ppg, 7.5 rpg, and 2.0 blocks per game, along with 1.0 assists per game.
Week Ending April 9, 2023
The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce that Jermaine Haley of the London Lightning has been named Player of the Week for the week ending April 9, 2023.
Haley Jr., a 6'7” guard from Vancouver who played collegiately at West Virginia, was instrumental in London’s 102-94 Saturday night victory over Kitchener-Waterloo. He finished the night with 21 points, 7 rebounds, and 9 assists in 45 minutes of play.
Week Ending April 2, 2023
The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce that Amir Williams of the London Lightning has been named Player of the Week for the week ending April 2, 2023.
Williams, a 6'11" centre from Birmingham, Michigan who played collegiately at Ohio State, completed a successful week for the Lightning. In his two games, Williams averaged 24.5 ppg and 9.0 rebounds per game, along with 3.0 asists and 4.0 blocked shots. He also finished with a shooting percentage of .454 for the week.

The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce that Billy White of the Windsor Express has been named Player of the Week for the week ending March 26, 2023. This is the seventh time that White has earned Player of the Week honours in his NBL Canada career.
White, a 6'8" power forward who played collegiately at San Diego State University, averaged 26.3 points, 10 rebounds and 8.7 assists in three Windsor Express road games against the TBL's Newfoundland Rogues. That three-game stretch also allowed white to reach 202 regular season games played, the 7th NBL Canada player to reach that mark. He also passed Brandon Robinson for fourth place in career free throws made (616 to Robinson's 612), and is only 25 points away from tying Ryan Anderson's 3,419 mark for second in NBL Canada regular season points scored.
Week Ending March 19, 2023
The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce that A.J. Mosby of the Sudbury Five has been named Player of the Week for the week ending March 19, 2023. This is the second time this year that Mosby has earned this honour.
Mosby, a 6’3” guard who played collegiately at Alcorn State, helped the Five reach first place in the NBLC standings. In those three games, he averaged 28.7 ppg, 5;3 rpg and 2.3 assists, while hitting a team-best 14-for-22 from beyond 3-point range.
Week Ending March 12, 2023
The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce that Jalen Hayes of the Kitchener-Waterloo Titans has been named Player of the Week for the week ending March 12, 2023. This is the first Titan to receive Player of the Week honours this season.
Hayes, a 6’7” forward who played collegiately at Oakland, averaged 21.7 points per game in Kitchener-Waterloo’s three games; he also averaged 4.7 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 2.0 steals per game this week. He also achieved a NBL career high of 38 points on 18-for-28 shooting in the Titans’ March 10, 2023 game against Windsor.
Week Ending March 5, 2023
The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce that Terry Thomas of the London Lightning has been named Player of the Week for the week ending March 5, 2023. This is the third London player to receive Player of the Week honours this season.
Thomas, a 6’4” guard from East Preston, N.S. who played collegiately at the University at Ottawa, was instrumental in London’s two victories this week. He scored 27 points per game, pulled down 9.5 rebounds per contest, and also averaged 3.5 assists, 1.0 blocks and 1.0 steals per game.
This is the fourth time Thomas has earned Player of the Week honours in his NBL Canada career; he previously received the award twice with the Moncton Magic, and once with the Island Storm.
Week Ending February 26, 2023
The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce that J.D. Miller of the Sudbury Five has been named Player of the Week for the week ending February 26, 2023. This is the third Sudbury player to receive Player of the Week honours this season.
Miller, a 6’8” forward who played collegiately at Texas Christian University, excelled in two Sudbury wins this week, achieving averages of 19.5 points, 10 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 3 steals per game.

The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce that Ja'Myrin Jackson of the Windsor Express has been named Player of the Week for the week ending February 12, 2023. This is the first Express player to receie Player of the Week honours this season.
Jackson, a 6'4" swingman who played collegiately at Lansing (Mich.) Community College, had a strong week for the Express, averaging 26.0 ppg and 7.5 rpg in two games; he also went 12-for-20 (.600) from 3-point range.

The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce that Mike Nuga of the London Lightning has been named Player of the Week for the week ending February 5, 2023. This is the second time this season that a Lightning player has earned Player of the Week honours.
Nuga, a 6’2” guard from Toronto who played collegiately at UNLV, led London in their three games – two victories – in scoring (18.3 ppg), rebounding (7.7 rpg) and assists (3.7 apg). After scoring 21 points in London’s Wednesday night loss to Windsor, Nuga was elevated to a starter and notched 19 points and 6 assists in the Lightning’s victory over Sudbury Sunday night.
Week Ending January 29, 2023
The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce that Jordan Burns of the London Lightning has been named Player of the Week for the week ending January 29, 2023.
Burns, a 6’2” guard who played collegiately at Colgate (N.Y.), guided the Lightning to three road victories against the Newfoundland (TBL) Rogues. He finished the week averaging 26.3 points, 6.7 rebounds and 9.3 assists. In Friday night’s win, Burns was only one rebound shy of the NBL’s first triple-double of the season (15 pts, 11 ast, 9 rebs).

Harris, a 6'7" guard who played collegiately at Buffalo, helped the Five remain unbeaten with 21 points and 9 rebounds in Sudbury's 86-83 victory over the London Lightning.
Week Ending May 1, 2022
The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce that Braylon Rayson of the Sudbury Five has been named Player of the Week for the week ending May 1, 2022.
Rayson, a 6'1" guard who played collegiately at Central Michigan, had two stellar games in Sudbury's two victories over Kitchener-Waterloo this week; he averaged 30.5 ppg and 7.0 assists per game in the two wins. He was also 7-for-17 from 3-point range, for a .412 average.
The National Basketball League of Canada is also pleased to announce that Terry Thomas of the London Lightning has been named Canadian Player of the Week for the week ending May 1, 2022. This is Thomas' third Canadian Player of the Week this season, and second consecutive award.
Thomas, a 6'4" shooting guard from East Preston, N.S., who played collegiately at Ottawa, lit up the scoreboard on Sunday with 33 points and 15 rebounds in London's 113-99 win over Windsor. Thomas also went 5-for-8 from 3-point range.
Week Ending April 24th, 2022
The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce that Jachai Taylor of the Windsor Express has been named Player of the Week for the week ending April 24, 2022.
Taylor, a 6'7" swingman who played collegiately at Queens College in North Carolina, was instrumental in helping Windsor break out of their losing streak; a 23.7 ppg average, including 68% field-goal shooting, for the man known as "Turbo" helped the Express earn two wins in three games this week.
The National Basketball League of Canada is also pleased to announce that Terry Thomas of the London Lightning has been named Canadian Player of the Week for the week ending April 24, 2022. This is Thomas' second Canadian Player of the Week this season.
Thomas, a 6'4" shooting guard from East Preston, N.S., who played collegiately at Ottawa, led all Lightning players in scoring this week with a 28.0 ppg average.

Bland, a 6’3” guard who played collegiately at Cal-Riverside, averaged 32.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 5.0 assists in two Sudbury games this week, both wins for the Five.
The National Basketball League of Canada is also pleased to announce that Jordan Jensen-Whyte of the London Lightning has been named Canadian Player of the Week for the week ending April 10, 2022.
Jensen-Whyte, a 6’5” guard from Calgary who played collegiately at the University of British Columbia, averaged 12.3 pts and 7.3 rebounds in three London victories. In the April 10 game against Flint, Jensen-Whyte pulled down a team-high 16 rebounds to go with his 29 points.

The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce that Eric Ferguson of the Kitchener-Waterloo Titans has been named Player of the Week for the week ending April 3, 2022.
Ferguson, a 6’8” forward who played collegiately at Georgia Southern University, averaged 20.3 ppg and 9.3 ppg in three Titans victories this week.
The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce that Tyrell Gumbs-Frater of the Sudbury Five has been named Canadian Player of the Week for the week ending April 3, 2022.
Gumbs-Frater, a 6’4” guard from Richmond Hill, Ont., who played collegiately at Coastal Carolina University, scored a team-high 20 points off the bench in Sudbury’s only game this week, a victory over the TBL’s Flint United.
Week Ending March 27th, 2022
The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce that Amir Williams of the London Lightning has been named Player of the Week for the week ending March 27, 2022.
Williams, a 6’11” centre who played collegiately at Ohio State, averaged 18.5 ppg and 11.5 rpg in two London victories this week. He also set a franchise record for blocked shots in a March 24, 2022 game against Sudbury with a team-high eight blocks.
The National Basketball League of Canada is also pleased to announce that Jason Calliste of the Sudbury Five has been named Canadian Player of the Week for the week ending March 27, 2022. This is the second time Calliste has received this honour this season.
Calliste, a 6’1” point guard from Scarborough, Ont. who played collegiately at Oregon, scored 11.5 points per game and 6.5 rebound per game for the Five this week.

The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce that Chris Jones of the London Lightning has been named Player of the Week for the week ending March 20, 2022. This is the second consecutive week that a Lightning player has earned this honour.
Jones, a 6'0" point guard who played collegiately at Louisville, was instrumental in London's two wins this week; having averaged 23.5 ppg and 6.5 rpg in those wins. He also dished out 3.5 assists per game in the two contests.

Forte, a 6’7” forward who played collegiately at Portland State, compiled a stunning 23.7 ppg average in London’s three victories this week. He also garnered 11.7 rebounds per game, as well as achieved a .635 FG% level.
The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce that Marcus Anderson of the Windsor Express has been named Canadian Player of the Week for the week ending March 13, 2022.
Anderson, a 6’3” guard from Brampton, Ont. Who played collegiately at Carleton, garnered 16.0 ppg in two games for Windsor; he also averaged 5.5 assists and 7.0 rebounds.

The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce that Billy White of the Windsor Express has been named Player of the Week for the week ending March 6, 2022. This is the sixth time White has earned this honour, having claimed it twice with the Moncton Magic and three times with the Halifax Hurricanes.
White, a 6’8” forward who played collegiately at San Diego State, garnered his first triple-double of his NBL Canada career (28 pts, 15 rebs, 11 ast), with a near-perfect 12-for-14 from the floor and 4-4 from the line.

The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce that Joel Kindred of the Kitchener-Waterloo titans has been named Player of the Week for the week ending February 27, 2022.
Kindred, a 6'4" shooting guard who played collegiately at St. Augustine's (Raleigh, N.C.) helped lead the Titans to three victories in the NBL's opening week. Kindred averaged 21.8 points in four games, including going 12-for-24 from 3-point range.
The National Basketball League of Canada is also pleased to announce that Jason Calliste of the Sudbury Five has been named Canadian Player of the Week for the week ending February 27, 2022.
Calliste, a 6'2" point guard who played collegiately at Oregon, averaged 18.5 points in four Sudbury contests this week, along with 16 combined assists.

The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce that Braylon Rayson of the Sudbury Five has been named Player of the Week for the week ending March 8, 2020.
Rayson, a 5'9" point guard who played collegiately at Central Michigan, had games of 41 and 49 points for the Five, including tying his personal record of 49 points and 8 3-pointers in Sudbury's 131-119 Saturday night victory over the London Lightning.

Osse, a 6'1" point guard from Montreal who played collegiately at Arkansas-Little Rock, scored 16 points in the Express' 122-93 victory over St. John's.

The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce that Billy White of the Moncton Magic has been named Player of the Week for the week ending February 23, 2020.
This is the second time this year that White has earned this honour. White, a 6'8" forward who played collegiately at San Diego State, averaged 34.0 points in two Moncton victories. He also set a personal and team record with a 52-point game on Sunday, February 23 against Halifax, the fourth-highest point total ever achieved in NBL Canada regular season game history.

Broome, a 6'0" rookie guard from the University at Cincinnati, came off the bench to average 22.5 points per game in the Edge's two victories, keeping St. John's in the hunt for an NBL Canada playoff spot.

Waithe, a 6'4" guard who played collegiately at the University at Arkansas, was the top scorer for the Hurricanes this week, notching 20.5 points per game.

Gaines, a 6'5" guard from Louisiana College, was instrumental in the Lightning's two victories this week, finishing with 27.5 points per game and 10.5 rebounds per game in those wins.
The National Basketball League of Canada is also pleased to announce that Alex Campbell of the Island Storm has been named Canadian Player of the Week for the week ending February 9, 2020. This is the third time this season that Campbell has earned this honour.
Campbell, a 6'2" point guard from the University at Windsor, came back from an injury to lead the Storm in scoring with 32.5 points per game, helping to snap the Storm's eight-game losing streak.

Ellis, a 6'6" small forward from Coppin State, averaged a double-double of 26.0 points and 11.3 rebounds, helping the Titans win two of three games this week.

Cadougan, a 6'1" guard who played collegiately at Marquette, hit a team-high 20 points in the Edge's Sunday victory over Halifax.

Jones, a 6'0" point guard who played collegiately at Louisville, averaged 30 points and 6 assists in two Windsor victories this week.
The National Basketball League of Canada is also pleased to announce that Shaquille Keith of the Windsor Express has been named Canadian Player of the Week for the week ending January 19, 2020.
Keith, a 6'5" forward who played collegiately at Cape Breton University, put up 17.3 ppg this week in two Express victories, he also led the team in rebounding with a 9.0 rpg average.

The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce that Karrington Ward of the St. John's Edge has been named Player of the Week for the week ending January 12, 2020.
Ward, a 6'7" forward from Eastern Michigan, was instrumental in the Edge's two victories this week, as he finished the week with an average of 19.0 ppg and 8.0 rpg. He was also 14-for-26 (.538) from three-point range.
The National Basketball League of Canada is also pleased to announce that Garrett Williamson of the London Lightning has been named Canadian of the Week for the week ending January 12, 2020.
Williamson, a 6'5" guard who played collegiately at St. Joseph's of Pennsylvania, put together his first NBL Canada career triple double of 20 points, 13 rebounds and 11 assists in front of a capacity crowd as the Lightning defeated Windsor, 99-91.

Moon, a 6'2" guard who played collegiately at Morehead State, was instrumental in London's four victories this week; he finished with an average of 23.5 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 7.5 assists; he also had six steals in the week, and was 15-for-30 (.500) from three-point range.

Lynn, a 6'0" guard from the New Jersey Institute of Technology, averaged 25.0 points per game in two Titans games; he also pulled down 6.5 rebounds per game, dished out 6.5 assists per game, and had a 2.0 steal per game average.

The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce that Jamal Reynolds of the Cape Breton Highlanders has been named Canadian Player of the Week for the week ending March 31, 2019. This is the second time this season that Reynolds has earned this honour.
Reynolds, a 6’4” guard who played collegiately at Canisius (N.Y.), averaged 22.5 points and 11.0 rebounds in the Highlanders’ two victories, which allowed Cape Breton to advance to the postseason for the first time in the franchise’s three-year history.

Jones, a 6'0" point guard who played collegiately at Louisville, scored a week-high 38 points for the Express in a 137-124 victory over Halifax. In the win, Jones was a perfect 13-for-13 from the free throw line, and averaged .600 (3-for-5) from 3-point range.
The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce that Yohanny Dalembert of the Sudbury Five has been named NBL Canada Player of the Week for the week ending March 10, 2019.
Dalembert, a 6'8" forward who played collegiately at James Madison University, had the best numbers on defence for the week; he dominated on the glass with 12 rebounds, and blocked a week-high five shots.
