NBLC Season XI: Jeremy Harris’ Greatest Hits

By Jack Ford

The MVP award is kept aside for the one who has stood out the most in a given season, and no NBLC player has done that more in 2023 than Jeremy Harris.

In his second year with Sudbury the guard has, since the very start, been an unstoppable force on offence, excelled in all areas and has been the north star for all others in the league. He became an MVP candidate very early on in the season and playing to a consistently high standard ever since has only reinforced those early indications.

Below is Jeremy Harris at his best this NBLC season, in the moments which best show what made him the MVP in 2023.

January 7th vs Oakland County Pharaohs

Harris' strong start to the season proved to be a predictor to his MVP selection. He opened 2023 with four straight twenty-point performances, beginning with his debut against the OC Pharaohs where he netted 25 points in twenty-seven minutes along with eight rebounds, beginning his streak of relentless tenacity and athleticism throughout the season.

February 17th at Newfoundland Rogues

On the road in Newfoundland, shorthanded Sudbury turned to their season star to deliver them a win and deliver he did. Shooting 77% on the night he led the team with 36 points along with ten total rebounds, he almost single-handedly engineered the win here for the Five.

April 23rd vs Jamestown Jackals

A prime example of why Harris was deserving of the MVP award, where he showed his capacity to dominate while on offence, his efficient use of time on court, and create chances for him and his team mates. In just 31 minutes played he put in a season-best 40 points and was an assist short of a double-double, one of the most exemplary individual showings of the 2023 NBLC season.
